The purpose of this studio is to provide a thorough musical foundation while maintaining a safe, warm, and welcoming environment for piano study. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and experience levels and strive to provide the best possible musical education for every student. In addition to individual lessons, students participate in studio-wide musical activities and projects throughout the year, helping to build a supportive community of musicians.

Attendance, Practice Expectations, Performance Opportunities:
 
I encourage students to regularly attend lessons to gain the most out of their musical studies.  Meaningful progress comes from consistent, thoughtful practice between lessons. The goal is not simply to spend time at the piano, but to engage with music regularly and with intention.
  
2026-2027 Yearly Tuition for Private Lessons
 
Tuition covers much more than the lesson itself. It includes individualized lesson planning, repertoire selection, recital preparation, studio resources, ongoing communication, and my continued professional development. The 2026-2027 year includes 38 weeks of scheduled lessons and 2 recitals.

Payment: please include 10 post-dated cheques for the 2026-2027 term at the first lesson in September.  Payments by cash and e-transfer are also accepted.  Students beginning lessons in the middle of the year will be pro-rated.
 
Cancellations and Make-up policy: Makeup lessons are provided only when I need to cancel a scheduled lesson. If a student needs to miss a lesson, please let me know in advance - makeup lessons for student-cancelled lessons can only be offered if a spot opens elsewhere in my week.

If a student needs to stop lessons partway through the year, one month's notice or one month's tuition is required.
 
Recitals, Festivals, Exams, and Studio Classes:
The studio offers two recitals each year, providing students with regular opportunities to share their music in a supportive and encouraging environment. Graded conservatory exams are also encouraged!
